The merger deal between J Sainsbury along with Walmart’s Asda is an attempt to protect against the Growth of e-commerce giant Amazon, an investment Director told CNBC on Monday.

The two companies announced early Monday that they willcombine forces to become the U.K.’s biggest grocer, surpassing Tesco.
