But from the company’s early days — if Amazon’s headquarters had just transferred from Jeff Bezos’ garage into a downtown Seattle office near a heroine-needle exchange and a porn shop — there were far fewer workers. Amazon was just a team of 10 in 1995, and Bezos was driving packs into the post office himself.
